THAYER EVANS & SANDRA HERRERA

Thayer Evans and Dr. Sandra Herrera were married in May 2019 after seven years together.

Thayer and Sandra are a rare husband and wife team that represents coaches and administrators. They love working together and building lifelong relationships with their clients.

Thayer Evans

Thayer has been an agent for coaches and administrators since 2016. He was previously director of coaches for TLA Worldwide for nearly three years.

Prior to that, Evans was a leading journalist for nearly
two decades. He was a senior writer at Sports Illustrated from 2012-16.

Before that, he did television for FOX Sports and covered college football for the company’s website. He also previously wrote for The New York Times, The Washington Post and USA Today among others.

Thayer played basketball at Oklahoma Wesleyan University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in communications and social studies. He also has a Master of Business Administration from Tiffin University, where he coached men’s basketball.

DR. SANDRA HERRERA

Sandra is a maternal fetal medicine specialist with Austin Maternal Fetal Medicine in Texas. She specializes in high-risk pregnancies, which you can learn more about here.

Dr. Herrera was named in 2023 as one of “Austin’s Top Doctors For Women” by Austin Monthly Magazine. She has earned that honor five consecutive years.

Born in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, Sandra is a proud
Texas A&M International University graduate.

She attended the University of Texas Medical Branch, where she earned her medical degree. She also completed her residency and fellowship training at UTMB.

Nick Meeker

Nick joined Coaches Rep in May 2024 as director of legal. He has represented collegiate and professional coaches since 2009.

Nick is an industry leader in the negotiation of coaching contracts. He is also renown for his professional development from job interview preparation to networking.

A trusted advisor, Nick has helped hundreds of coaches and their families navigate the ever-changing landscape of collegiate and professional sports.

A native of Alexandria, Virginia, Nick attended Fork Union Military Academy in Fork Union, Virginia, and earned his undergraduate degree from Stanford University.

He went on to graduate from the University of Virginia School of Law and is an active member of the D.C. Bar Association.

Nick met his wife, Alexis, also a Stanford graduate, in college. They currently reside in San Diego, California, with their daughter, Gabriela, and English bulldog, Thurgood.

Andrew Sowder

Andrew joined Coaches Rep in December 2023 as the director of coaches. He previously coached college football for nearly 15 years, most recently as the tight ends coach at Minnesota.

His coaching stops included West Texas A&M, Eastern Illinois, Bowling Green, Texas, San Jose State and Kent State. Six of those seasons were as an offensive coordinator that featured multiple top 10 FBS offenses.

Overall, he coached in six bowl games and mentored more than a dozen NFL players.

A native of Shallowater, Texas, Andrew played football at Baylor University, where earned a Bachelor of Arts in digital media. He and Shawna Fletcher married in May 2021.

They reside in Austin, Texas.

Tanner Ray

Tanner has been involved with Coaches Rep in a part-time role since its birth in 2019.

Ray previously worked in the recruiting department for the Oklahoma football program. He then held jobs in many facets of sports marketing with the Texas Rangers and Orlando Magic.

Ray also served as art director in retail advertising at TPN, part of the Omnicom Group, which provides brand and advertising services to more than 5,000 clients in over 100 countries.

A 2016 graduate of the University of Oklahoma, he is a native Texan.
